Hello Denver! Where Lymph Flows (and how to work with it) A Guided Meditation
Aug 21, 2025If you’ve ever wondered “Where does lymph drain?” or “How can lymphatic work help me feel lighter after surgery or illness?”—welcome. I’m Lara Henderson, LMT, CLT, CMF, a lymphatic & lymphedema practitioner and post-mastectomy fitter now offering one day/week in Denver at Nurture • The Wellcare Marketplace (2949 Federal Blvd) while continuing to serve Boulder County. If you’re searching “lymphatic drainage near me,” “lymphedema support Denver,” or “post-mastectomy fitting Denver,” you’re in the right place.
Please note that the video above is meant as a general flow of the waters in the lymphatic system in a guided meditation, not a precise representation of lymphatic anatomy.
The quick answer: where lymph drains
Lymph doesn’t empty “into the heart.” It returns to your bloodstream at the venous angles just above your collarbones—where the thoracic duct (left side) and right lymphatic duct (right upper quadrant) meet the subclavian/internal jugular veins. In most people, the thoracic duct empties on the left; the right duct drains the right head/arm/chest area.

Why it matters: finishing strokes toward these areas—especially above the collarbones—can help “finish the job” you started peripherally. The video “Where the fluid drains” demonstrates this concept and clears up common myths about drainage pathways.
Try this gentle sequence (at home)
-
Collarbone clearing: Soft, slow circles above the collarbones to prime the venous angles.
-
Neck & jaw release: Light pressure gliding toward those angles.
-
Move proximal → distal → back: Open near the center first, then address farther areas, and finish back toward the venous angles.
Always keep pressure light and rhythmic; lymphatics respond to gentle, non-painful work.
Want a guided experience? Press play on my Quantum Lymphatic Landscape video above—this video was a labor of love- first created for Lee Harris Energy's exclusive Portal members, designed to blend anatomy with a calming, meditative pace so your system can unwind while you learn and elevate your awareness.
When professional care helps most
Post-surgery & scars: Ease swelling, support tissue remodeling, and calm protective tension.
Lymphedema management: Education, garment guidance, and day-to-day routines that fit your life.
Oncology & immune support: Gentle sessions to reduce heaviness, “puffiness,” and fatigue while you restore.
If you’re dealing with persistent swelling, heaviness, or limited range of motion, a tailored plan makes all the difference.
